It's no secret that we love fall. It's our favorite. Great food, great weather - to us it's when the world feels the most alive. This past weekend we spent some time taking in all the season has to offer. We even took to the top off to Jeep and let our hair blow al wild. Tomorrow, a pumpkin spice latte definitely feels in order as we head back to the office.
Fresh from the market / Fall colors / pumpkin gourds / pick your own apples/ hot apple cider
While we currently have very little monograming in our life, we'd like to have more. Recently coming across, Swell Caroline, we fell in love with some of their unique pieces. Check out these shoe clips!
Seen on these JCREW flats
Might need to pick up a few in a couple different hues. We're a big believer in accessorizing to keep things fresh.... a great way to add a little chic to an old standby flat.
Every fall... well, let's face it, with every change of season, we shop our closet ( and reccomend our clients do the same). We take stock of what's working, what we're dying to wear, and well, what we haven't really taken off the hanger in a while. We shed, discard and donate. And, thanks to those thick September glossies, it's not hard to build a file of key pieces to add in to the mix. With this past weekend ushering in some cooler weather, we can't wait to break out the cozy knits ( and knee high boots)! Here's what we're loving amongst the racks ( or rack, since we only have one, as in singular).... alas.
Blazers. Classic fall. In red? A little unexpected. We are dying over these schoolboy's by JCREW. Just a little more snug and smaller fitting than your average. Red and leopard are always a must.
And, pairs quite nicely with our Target Boutique marine slippers.
Our fall color pull of silks, velvets and wool. Not many grays, blacks or browns here.
We are anxious to cozy up in this camel waffle knit
Or don this wool pencil and polka-dot ensemble.
Perhaps with these vintage pearls?
While our footsie's might get a little cold, we love these heels paired with a cuffed denim.
We just can't get enough green lately (see enamored with emerald). And, while it's true we're in an endless love affair with apparel of the shade, today we're all about that of the drinking variety. Juice! It's hard to admit that we haven't been taking very good care of ourselves, especially in the edible's department, so we mustered up some gumption to stock up on some green goodness and visit one of our favorite places in the world: Whole Foods. Somehow, everything just feels right with the world in that store.... even if you're under the weather.
To kick-off fall in the right fashion, both inside and out, we're starting a new juicing regimen. No, not one of those crazy clense thingy's, just a simple weekly juicing indulgence ( and maybe more often if we get really crazy). Because when we feel good, we look good. Yes, we were afraid to take the first sip. No, we couldn't be more pleasantly surprised with the taste. Yum! (Seriously, it's good).
1 Cup of organic spinach
1 Cup of organic kale
2 golden delicious apples
A handful of organic parsley
1 organic lemon, peeled
a bit of ginger to taste
Blend all in your jucier. I suppose this could work in a blender, but we used our Jack Lalane's Power Juicer.
We're one to crush hard. On color that is. Our doting of late falls to the color of nature, fertility, well-being and growth. And well, we're all for that this September. While you'll see much ado about the color burgundy, it's got nothing on our friend emerald. In light doses and key pieces, this shade is sure to make a statement. Below, a few select pieces we're dreaming of - those of the Lanvin, Shopbop and Ivanka variety. We suggest ample pairings with the following hues.
We love scouring antique malls and flea markets of the like for a good treasure. This past weekend we spent some time wandering around a local mall, where one of our friends was a purveyor of such curiosities, and found some sparkle amongst the dusty wares. We're hoping to channel a little vintage glamour with these starbursts (that screw in at the back!) and vintage compact for the attendance of an upcoming wedding.
Hope you all had a fun and fashionable weekend. We haven't decided on the dress yet, but pics to come.
There's something about fall that makes us want to get all polished up and play the pretty professional for the daily grind (and while we do, there's many a day where we actually just don flip-flops... ) But that's not the point. The point is that we find ourselves craving structure, leather, smooth and classic hardware - a piece de resistance to tote our important dossiers, that whispers, "Hey, the important person has arrived, the chic, fabulous and important... WO- MAN."
And with that, we have a few suggestions for the working gals chic and classic carry-all, a request from a former co-worker, that will carry you from boardroom, to the lunch meeting, and back - all while looking like you know what's going on ( even if all you're carrying is the latest Vogue, and let's face it, perhaps US Weekly too). Certainly an investment that will pay off for years to come, we vote for rich brown or classic camel tones, detailed with a purpose, transcending trends, time and outfits.
Classic Coach Legacy Leather Tote. You can't go wrong with a Coach all-leather bag. Especially since they've brought back so many of their classic shapes. $498
The Eddie Attache Bag. By who else but J.Crew, who is seriously impressing us of late. This two tone is one that never goes out of style. $238
Rachel Zoe Nico Messenger bag @Piperlime This one is perhaps our fave out of the bunch. Classic sillohuette. $367
We love Brahmin. Duh. This Taylor Zip Tote Kennsington is the perfect combination of classic color done in an interesting but understated way. Classic shape with unique and fine attention to detail get's our vote every time. $375
Banana Republic's Elena leather tote. Another two tone option with a cute hardware clasp that won't necessarily break the bank, but still transcends. $250
What about you ladies. What's your go-to bag for the office?
As the last "unofficial" weekend of summer comes to a close, we were inspired to post one of our favorite pictures (and outfits - please disregard our horrible pedicure at the time) of the season. On a hiatus for quite sometime, we're glad to be back, just in time for fashions time to shine. Fall. And we can't wait for what's in-store. Looking back at what we were craving last autumn, we're in the mood for cozy knits and crisp cool air. We also hear that Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back ( oh yeah)! It's September and time for a whole new outlook. Are you ready to start shopping your closet?
